The three Facebook business pages I chose to review are Michelle Bowler Art, Shanfield Mcleish Art, and The Art of Caleb Peregrine.
The Michelle Bowler Art page has 200 followers. Her cover photo is one of her drawings, and her call to action button is to message her. She consistently posts, at least a couple of times a week. I think she is making good use of her Facebook page and the call to action button she chose is good for an artist to have on their page.
The Shanfield Mcleish Art page has 9.1K followers. His cover photo is a partial photo of his face and one of his drawings. His call to action button is to contact him on Whatsapp. He consistently posts on a weekly basis. His posts consist of in progress photos of his drawings, photos of finished artwork and short videos of him working on his drawing. I think it's interesting he chose to have Whatsapp as his call to action button, but I guess I'm just not as familiar with it.
The Art of Caleb Peregrine page 3.6K followers. His cover photo is one of his paintings. His call to action button is to contact him on Whatsapp. He consistently posts on a daily basis. He definitely makes good use of his Facebook page. His posts consist of advertisements to his Etsy shop, photos of finished artwork, advertisement for the class he teaches, Short videos of his artwork and funny memes.
I learned a lot from this assignment, including that consistency (a recurring theme for me) is key to building your social media pages. I learned that people like to see photos and short videos of in progress works as well as completed works. I learned that Whatsapp can be used as a call to action button which makes me want to look into using it more. Overall this research was eye opening and helps me have a better idea about how to better use my Facebook page.
