Week 5 Part B: Learning about FaceBook Data Collecting

Post reach and post engagement are both important insights to have as a business. In terms of post reach, this is important because you can see how often your posts are being viewed on Facebook, meaning how often they show up in your followers feed. This is helpful in making sure you are reaching all of your followers and that they can see new products and it keeps your business relevant to followers. In terms of post engagement, this is important because it shows what people are interested in that you are offering. People will comment and like the things that interest them, and you can see what is more popular or well liked by your clientele.

You can learn so much from post reach and post engagement. For post reach you can see which posts are showing up more in your followers feed, and this can help you to see how Facebook analytics works in sharing your content. In terms of Art this is helpful in knowing how much of your art is reaching your followers and non followers. The more people your posts reach the more post engagement you will likely receive. From post engagement you learn what your clients like and don't like. You also can get recommendations, or in terms of art, new commissions. There is so much to learn from post reach and engagement.

A business can use Facebook insights to better serve their customers because they will be empowered with the knowledge of how their information/products are being shared. Whether or not they are reaching a majority of their followers, and if they are gaining new followers. Also whether or not followers are sharing their content with friends and family, and from post engagement how to better meet the needs of their clients, maybe they are requesting a certain product or service or maybe they really like one product but another not so much.

Facebook privacy changes are good in some ways because most people don't want their private information leaked out to third party companies. Better privacy rules help ensure sensitive information stays private. The downside is you're not getting as much informational statistics as you were before, but I think this is a bit more helpful for larger companies rather than the small business. There has to be a balance between getting helpful demographics and respecting peoples privacy. For example I can go on the Michael Kors website to check out whats new and then within days of that I am getting ads in my gmail relating to Michael Kors products. It's helpful for the business because they know specifically what I am looking at and can advertise similar products to me, but sometimes its annoying as a consumer to be bombarded with ads even if they are tailored interest ads.

I commented on Frozen Tower Treats, Carlsbad Coffee Company, Tuesday and the Gypsy, and Dora Tapioca Crepe.
