Week 6 Part A: Engaging Your Customers - FaceBook Strategy

The seven businesses I followed on Facebook are

Las Laguna Art Gallery
Laguna Art Gallery
Laguna Gallery of Contemporary Art
San Clemente Art Association
The Gray Matter Museum of Art
Art Angels
Los Angeles Gallery of Art

I chose these pages to like, because they are galleries I would be interested in showing my work in. I think they are good connections to have because maybe my work will be noticed if I engage in conversation with them, and who knows the possibilities it could lead to.

The galleries mostly post photos of artwork they are showing, or they share posts from the artists showing in their gallery. They also post show openings so you can apply. I think that is helpful because you have the chance to possibly get noticed and show your work. The San Clemente Art Association posts about events and things showing in their gallery. They also advertise volunteer opportunities which could further help bring awareness to me and my art.

The different galleries don't really have a lot of comments, and for those that do, they don't seem to interact with their followers very much. One thing I really learned from this assignment is the importance of having connections because it makes getting your name out there so much easier than trying to do it all on your own. I also learned that for galleries people mostly like the photos, and there isn't much interaction going on. This leads me to think that Facebook may not be the best platform for an artist.
