Three businesses that I decided to check out on Instagram are
Fenty Beauty, Chilis, and Images Salon.
These businesses all utilize static images which is what Instagram is known for, but Fenty Beauty and Chili's also use short videos. I think this combination really works well for those two businesses, because they seem to have a lot of likes on both images and videos. One thing that Chili's does is that they post funny memes, which I think helps boost comments. Images Salon, mostly utilizes static images, but one thing different that they do, is they have posts where they are sharing their TikToc video. I think that is really smart because it appeals to people who are also on that platform and may possibly follow them on there. It's too bad that Images Salon doesn't use a lot of video posts, because I think it would really help boost views and likes, reaching even more people.
The classmates whose blog posts I commented on are
Danise Keilitz- Salon Ownership Made Easy,
Sascha Shapiro- Tuesday and the Gypsy,
Marcus Visconti- Dora Tapioca Crepe,
Dustin Wells- DW Equipment Repair,
Danise has memes, static images as well as videos, and I think its a really good strategy to try to reach as many people as possible. You can tell that work and thought have been put into each post. This is different from how I use Instagram, and I definitely see the potential in adding more videos and even memes on my page. Dora Tapioca Crepe made a collage image, which is pretty cool, and something I think that would be cool to implement on my page, and DW Equipment Repair made a slideshow video which I think could be cool to do on my page as well to showcase some of my artwork.
Overall I learned many new things, some of which I would like to implement on my Instagram page, I am excited to create new paintings and share them and my process in new ways on my Instagram.
