The companies I chose are Armstrong Garden Center and Tree of Life Nursery.
The target market for Armstrong Garden Center appears to be geared toward all people, and especially people who are looking for specialty plants. It has other garden related products too, so people looking to build their outdoor gardens can buy patio furniture, garden statues and fountains, and even wind chimes. They advertise landscaping services and hold classes and events. The target market for Tree of Life Nursery appears to be geared for all people, especially for people looking for California native plants. This is their main focus and they also wholesale, and provide collaboration on design and maintenance of your garden. They have two different blogs, one is specifically geared for beginners.
Obvious differences would be Tree of Life Nursery is strictly California native plants and Armstrong Garden Center is more generic plants with some that are specialty. Tree of Life Nursery is primarily focused on helping you create a self sustaining California native plants garden. I think there is some crossover between the two types of customers. Maybe someone who shops at Tree of Life Nursery will come to Armstrong Garden Center to get patio furniture or garden statues, wind chimes, perhaps even products for birding, mulch, and tools.
Overall I think that Armstrong Garden Center has a visually appealing website, that is not harsh on the eyes and is really geared for all people, its clear and easy to find the information you need, such as products they sell, classes and events and landscaping services. They also have links to their social media accounts on the homepage. Tree of Life Nursery is also visually appealing, and geared toward all people. Its easy to navigate, they have links to their blog, videos and newsletter sign up form on their homepage as well as their mission statement and links to their social media accounts.
